Choices

27th December 2017

This week I have been reading Psalm one. It is unclear who the author is, but it serves as an introduction to the whole book of ‘Psalms’ reminding the reader that there are two ‘ways’ which can be followed...

God blesses those people who refuse evil advice and won’t follow sinners or join in sneering at God.
Instead, the Law of the Lord makes them happy, and they think about it day and night. They are like trees growing beside a stream, trees that produce fruit in season and always have leaves. Those people succeed in everything they do.
Psalm 1:1-3 The CEV Bible

The choice is clear: If you want to be under God’s blessing then avoid wickedness, behaving badly (sinning) and mockery. On the other hand, if you read, meditate and act in line with God’s ways (as found in the Bible) then God will blessed and prosper you. As we head towards 2018, I know what choice I want to make. What about you?
