Current Possibilities

The Popley Spotlight Centre
Chineham Park School in Popley has been offered to Michaela Riley (North BCC) and her charity www.peaceofmindcare.co.uk. This charity does wonderful work supporting children through after-school and Saturday clubs of all descriptions. The work has been running for nine months now and is providing all kinds of affordable classes to local people. North BCC are playing their part in serving in this community, and regularly runa café style church meeting there. An English Café is being run (see below), which is very affective, a charity shop to support Uganda, and a coffee bar. The potential for serving this needy area of our town, and for developing Christian community in the midst is only limited by our imaginations and resources. If you would like to know more about this emerging community please contact us using the 'Contact Us' tab at the top of the screen.
Café Connect
A group that meets fortnightly on a Wednesday evening in Costa Coffee in the Chineham shopping centre. The coffee shop is specifically opened for this purpose. This venture has been running for the best part of two years and provides an opportunity to connect with a variety of people. The evening is largely social, making room for conversations and friendship, with a 20 minute focus sometime in the evening. It is still experimental in nature but already has a committed core of church and non-church folks, who find it a good, regular time to be together. If you want to know more about this do contact Mark Holley or Dan Wake, both from East Basingstoke Community Church.
Newbury
Over the last three years there has been a regular gathering in Newbury of young single and married couples. The connection originally began through Ferenc and Annette, two Hungarians who had contact with East BCC, who began a bible study in their house. It has a core of four people, with others sometimes participating. Some from BCC's go over simply to support and serve this gathering. If you live in Newbury or know people living in Newbury who would like to connect occasionally in the week, do contact Phil Norris via the 'Contact Us' tab above.
Bramley
A group are gathering in Bramley who have a real desire to reach this village with the love of Christ. This group involves members from two BCC’s churches and the local Anglican church. They meet regularly to pray, worship and plan. They have successfully run Alpha, supported local village activities and have an open invitation into the new old people’s home. It has been amazing watching God connect different people together for mission.
English Café
Two English Cafés are being run: one in Sarum Hill Centre, the other in the Spotlight centre Popley. The aim is to spend time with the increasing international community of our town, serving them through teaching English and friendship. It is a great opportunity to befriend those who have left their homes and are trying to settle in a new country. It is also a great opportunity to learn from their cultures. In the midst it is also gives opportunity to explain our faith as questions arise.
