Dave & Chris Richards

Dave and Chris Richards met in Oxford when they were 18 years old and became Christians in Witney, Oxfordshire on November 1st 1970, and a new House Church sprang up around them and a group of other Christian friends. They lived communally for seven years and during this time they got to know and became close to Barney Coombs, who was then the pastor of the Basingstoke Baptist Church. Barney moved to Vancouver in 1977 and in 1979 asked them to move to Basingstoke to lead and give apostolic direction to the Church. They moved from the East Midlands in May 1981 and live in the village of Oakley.

Dave continued to be the Senior Pastor of the Church (now renamed Basingstoke Community Church), whilst carrying apostolic responsibility for many other Churches in UK and Overseas. In May 1996 the BCC leaders released them to their international apostolic work but they still remain members of the local Church and are spiritual parents to many. Dave pastors senior leaders in England, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Sweden and America. Together they carry a heart to see leaders trained, new Churches planted and apostolic teams arise in the nations.

Dave leads apostolic teams in the Nordic and USA Regions and serves on the International and European teams of Salt and Light Ministries. This means a life of constant travel, which has continued pretty well since they first met. Chris travels extensively alongside of Dave and is a key member on the European Nordic and USA teams of Salt and Light. They have three married children and seven precious grandchildren.
