Easter changes everything

28th March 2018

This week I have been reading the Easter story. A lot of detail is recorded in the four gospels giving the reader an amazing insight into the story. It’s a powerful unfolding drama of betrayal, deception, liars, torture and brutal death. However, it’s also an incredible account of mercy, grace, love, forgiveness, resurrection and joy! What a rollercoaster! What does it all mean? Well, the letter to the Christians in Colossians says...

At one time you were separated from God. You were his enemies in your minds, and the evil things you did were against God. But now God has made you his friends again. He did this through Christ’s death in the body so that he might bring you into God’s presence as people who are holy, with no wrong, and with nothing of which God can judge you guilty.
Colossians 1:21-22 The NCV Bible

Jesus’ death and resurrection changes everything! We no longer have to be separated from Father God. Jesus has opened the door into the wonderful presence of God. The old has gone and the new has come. We can be friends of God! We can be free from the past. The dramatic story of Easter is good news for all humanity. This Easter let us truly celebrate and be grateful to God for all Jesus has done!
