Good & Pleasant

22nd November 2017

This week I have been reading Psalm 133. This is a brief psalm and part of the ‘Song of Ascents’ collection. It’s theme is about unity and blessing...

How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.
Psalm 133 The NIV Bible

We all have to get on, work or play with other people; it’s part of being human! I’m sure you have experienced the joy and thrill of ‘team’ success as well as the frustrations and disappointments when a ‘team’ is not united. Whatever ‘team’ it may be there are good and bad ones. This psalm tells us that when there is unity it is both ‘good’ and ‘pleasant’. Not only that but when there is unity, God blesses both the people and what they are doing! So, if you want to be part of a team that is ‘good’, ‘pleasant’ and blessed by God then do all you can to get unity, whatever it takes!
