KBCTClite
Thinking Theologically
Living Reflectively
Making a Difference
We believe that what we’re taught, what we think and what we experience influence the way we view the world, how we view people, business, politics, education, and ultimately the way we choose to live our lives. We also believe that as Christians we are called to make a difference in the world we live in both on a local and global level, and that the Bible, along with the inspiring and empowering presence of the Holy Spirit, shape this transformational lifestyle.
KBCTClite aims to bring a taste of the quality and depth of biblical training of The King’s Bible College (KBCTC), Oxford, to people who cannot presently attend the full year course. Much of what is taught here is covered in the foundation term at KBCTC and is delivered by some of the KBCTC lecturers. We also have other guest lecturers from both Basingstoke Community Churches and further afield. We have in the past been delight to welcome special guest speakers from Regent College, Vancouver.
We aim to be a community of people who learn together and we are committed to providing a safe, caring and supportive community in which to do so, where you can even ask some of those difficult theological questions that have been nagging away for years. We encourage a culture where there is healthy dialogue, not only with fellow students, but with course lecturers and tutors.
We hope the above has inspired you in some way and ask you to consider whether KBCTClite, or perhaps even the year course at KBCTC, Oxford, is part of the next chapter in your adventure.
Here’s what some of the previous students have to say:
“I was shocked to discover how little I knew the Bible and really understood its message, but that is changing thanks to KBCTClite. The course opened up a humbling but absolutely captivating journey of discovery for me and made me hungry for more.”
Andy Mackintosh, South Basingstoke Community Church
”I have gained an incredible appreciation of the wonder of the Bible: The course has opened my eyes to the way scriptures fit together so intricately and coherently to tell God’s story.”
Sue Trudinger, Town Centre Community Church
“The course so far has given me a whole new way to read the Bible; namely to study it. This has caused me to read the Bible more and to give deeper reflection on what God’s Word has to say to me today. I only wish that I had done this years ago!”
Ben Verrall, Tadley Community Church Church
