KBCTClite Year One

padlockYear One is a part-time one year foundational Theology and Biblical studies course suitable for anyone who believes that the Bible is foundational to the whole of life. By foundational we don’t mean ‘basic’ what we mean is ‘that which we can build upon’. There are no minimum qualifications required, this course is open to all.

Dates

We are currently working hard to assess the viability of running a 2010 – 2011 course starting in September. If you are interested in doing the course, please register your interest by emailing us at: kbctclite@bccnet.org.uk or by contacting the church offices from the home page of this website.

Content

We are currently working on a new course programme which is subject to the viability of a 2010 – 2011 course. Below are some of the courses we have run in the last two years:

  • How to read and understand the Biblekeys
  • Old Testament Overview
  • New Testament Overview
  • The History of the Church
  • The Nature and Character of God
  • The Trinity
  • The Psalms

Cost

We’d love to offer this course to everyone for free, however we do have necessary costs we need to cover. We are dedicated to keeping the course cost to a minimum and will do all we can to make this course accessible to everyone.

Our costs are subject to a number of factors which at this stage in the planning process are still to be confirmed. The cost of an up-coming course is therefore still to be finalised. To give you some idea, the total cost of the 2008-2009 course was £300 and included 11 weekends of lectures, refreshments during the weekends, monthly tutorials and two course books.

Student Comments

“I’ve been challenged, stretched and encouraged. My eyes have been opened to the vastness of our God in a new way. The course gives you the courage to question what you believe without fear, and whets your appetite for more.”
Nancy Bentliff, South Basingstoke Community Church

“It was a real privilege to sit at the feet of some excellent and thought-provoking teaching. I have never studied the Bible in such depth as I have done on this course. My faith is deeper and wider because of KBCTClite.”
Jon Smith, South Basingstoke Community Church

”One of my biggest joys was discovering my Young's Concordance could do so much more than I thought! I’d only used it to locate half remembered references or find a handful of references on a particular topic. My eyes didn't even register the different Greek & Hebrew words & the richness of the difference uses. Nor did I realise I could find out where words had been translated differently. It’s opened up a whole new set of options - like finding new bits on a Swiss penknife. Tools are only of use to us if we are shown properly how to use them!”
