Key House - The Official Opening
The 'Official Opening' of Key House took place at 11am on Friday 16 October 2010. We purchased the building in March 2010 and the transformation was completed in just 34 weeks! We were honoured to have Maria Miller MP for Basingstoke and The Mayor of Basingstoke Cllr Keith Chapman and his wife Jennifer Chapman. Other guests included people from the Council, those involved in the 'legal' and 'finance' part of the the project, the contractors, other church leaders, our neighbours at the top of town, representatives from BCOT and QMC and ex-teachers from The King's School and some from across our churches.
Phil Norris welcomed everyone and was followed by Headteacher David Robotham. The Mayor then gave a short speech as did Maria Miller MP. Phil then took to the platform once more to explain some more behind the whole building project and to thank the many people who had been involved in the project before Andy Taylor closed in prayer.
After a 'group shot' with the local press outside Key House the guests were divded into small groups who were then given a guided tour of Key House and Brambly's by year 11 students. Finally the guests were escorted into the Sarum Hill Centre for refeshments.
Take a look at what took place, including all the speeches and photos below...

Finally, the plaque in the entrance hall in Key House sums it up...
