Key House - week beginning 22 March
The week starting 22 March was when the main contractors moved in! It’s a proper building site now; you have to wear a hard hat and high-visibility jacket, safety first! Externally, all the scaffolding is now in place, so work can begin on improving the roof, and soon all the windows will be replaced. The space under the first floor was leveled and ground work began. Internally the new boiler system was starting to go in. On the first floor the partitions came down. We shall re-use the doors and some glass panels. As well as pictures we now have some video on YouTube!

Take a look and what’s been going on…
Key House - a proper building site!
Inside the contractors office (including nice view of a skip).
Health & Safety in the workplace...
...and you have to sign in...
...then pop on your 'hard hat' and 'high-viz' jacket!
The scaffolding is in place ready to change the windows and to fix the roof.
A rather large fork lift truck leaving the site and...
...blocking the traffic on Sarum Hill!
Work begins to create the new art and music rooms...
...notice the new doorway (cut through the wall) on the right!
Meanwhile, on the first floor...
...all the internal partitions have come down.
These doors and glass panels will be reused...
...and so will these ceiling tiles.
This is not a piece of 'modern art'.
You can see where the partitions used to be.
Mmm, where do these stairs lead..?
...to the new boiler room above the second floor!
These are all brand new...
...and so are these pipes and pumps!
This is what the roof looks like...
...the new insulation ready to be fitted...
...once the roof has been cleaerd of the small stone and moss.

Watch the disappearing tree...going...

...going...

...gone :)
