Key House - week beginning 23 August

August has been a very busy month on the Building Project! The completion of Key House edges closer, as does the new school term!. More units from QMC have gone in, doors have been hung, carpet have vinyl have been laid as well as many other jobs being done too! Outside, the pathway between Key House and the Sarum Hill Centre playground has been started and at the front of the building the lamp post has been moved, the new bus shelter erected and the entrance area takes shape. Meanwhile down in Bramblys each room has been painted and a new kitchen has been created. There's much to see, so on with the show...

We start with some video updates from each floor of Key House:

The Second floor...

The food tech room...

The first floor...

The ground floor...

Outside and down the path...

In Bramblys...

The view from the second floor of Key House, with freshly painted walls.

Along the corridor...

...and into one of the seminar rooms at the front of the building.

The main corridor, awaitng the new lockers. Notice the fire escape at the end.

The 'cage' in the computer room, to house the new server (not naughty pupils) with rather a lot of data cable needing to be connected :)

Along the corridor and the 'dirty' lab is really coming on...

...with gas taps too!

The lab prep room (with more storage from QMC)...

..and into the clean lab, with trunking for electric sockets...

...and more worktops and a large belfast sink (from QMC).

One of the new doors!

The year 11 tutor base (at the far end of the building) is almost finished...

...and from out of the window you can see the path connecting Key House to the Sarum Hill Centre playground.

The food tech room...with new vinyl flooring and tiled walls.

On the first floor there's men up ladders with the heads in the ceiling.

This will be the staff room.

The first floor corridor (with cardboard down to protect the new flooring).

One of the classrooms...

...and in another room volunteers sort ceiling tiles (Come on Hugh and Graham!).

On the ground floor, 'the studio' is still a bit of a building site...

...and the music room looks like a store room!

The art and craft rooms are looking good. More worktops from QMC.

The new lockers arrive and are slotted into place.

The new entrance to Key House, with new lamp post and bus stop :)

And finally...here's whats been going on down in Bramblys - the yellow room...

...the blue room...

...and the new kitchen area!
