Key House - week beginning 3 May
It's May, spring is in the air, but it's a bit cold in Key House as the old windows come out ready for the new ones to go in next week. The roof is nearly done, cabling begins to go in, more rooms 'take shape', the under floor heating is intsalled and we find out what is in the fridge. Take a look at the latest video and photos below...

We'll start on the roof and work our way down...
The roof is nearly there, just finishing off the dormas and looking good!
On the second floor the old windows are out...
...and temporarily boarded up to stop any rain coming in.
As the old windows come out you can see that the lead flashing was wrapped over the wood frame, which was why they leaked and let the rain in...
...so for the new windows the lead flashing has been crafted with a small 'tray' so any water will flow outside and not in - brilliant!
With the partiton walls in place, Dave Downer's electrical team have been installing cables - seen below from behind...
...and in front (this will be a light swith for one of the classrooms).
In the food tech room, extractor 'components' wait to be installed...
...and if you look up you can see where they will go out through the roof.
Any ideas what used to be here?
A toilet...and here they are, together like a couple of old friends (waiting to be skipped!).
On the first floor, the new rooms are taking shape, here's the entrance to Miss Duncan's office...
...and looking down the corridor, more rooms are being formed.
The windows are coming out on this floor as well.
On the ground floor the brick work is all done.
The under floor heating in the music room is ready to be covered in concrete...
...as is the art room. There is a low wall as it's going to be glazed, allowing more light to fill the larger space.
Inside the drama room you can see the new chair stores.
Mmm, not much in the fridge...
...and look at the state of the kitchen sink :)
