Small Groups
Small groups are the heart of the church. At South Church, we are committed to being more than simply a large group of people who gather together on a Sunday.
Small groups provide the perfect smaller setting to meet with friends, a place of support and encouragement, and a place to know and be known.
All small groups vary, and you are encouraged to try and find one that will suit you. During a typical small group evening you might worship together, pray for each other, and have a time of sharing or teaching. Small groups may also organise weekends away, blessing the community projects and social activities.
Essentially they are a place where we can belong, receive pastoral care, grow in our faith and have fun.
Our 5 core values for these groups are:
- Christ at the Centre
- Every member in ministry
- Personal Growth
- Creating Community
- Multiplication/outward Focus
We also have single sex discipleship groups which meet once a month as part of each small group.
How to join a home group
Much of our life together in South is based in our small groups, if you are not part of one & would like to be, please contact Stephen & Sylvia Poulton on 01256 422671 in the first instance.
