Hope For Tadley was initially set up as a weekend of community help, outreach and worship, but for 2009 was adapted into an ongoing voluntary organisation that can continue to exercise outreach through voluntary works

Using the “faith and works” chapter in James 2 as our motivation, we intend to change the Hope for Tadley group from being just a Praise and Prayer night for activities in Tadley, to a much more active and involved group with things already going on in the town, and also helping to facilitate the development or advancement of others. The initial “plan” for 2009 is to work towards Hope for Tadley becoming a volunteer group, working in partnership with the already established volunteer organisation around Basingstoke, Basingstoke Volunteers.

The Aims and purposes of the Hope for Tadley Group

1. To set up and run a volunteer group working to make a positive noticeable difference in Tadley both to local residents and ‘in need’ areas.

2. To positively promote voluntary and community activity in Tadley, in partnership with Basingstoke Voluntary Services (BVS), their volunteer centre team and local churches.

3. To work within the concept of the Christian religion by ensuring the values we hold are upheld and maintained by all our members, irrespective of their own faith, creed and religion; we aim to be inclusive of all whilst working within these boundaries.
Members Meetings and Activities

We are aiming to support a different organisation / group each month, volunteering in any way we can - from one off litter picking events to supporting a weekly youth club - the possibilities are endless!

Inbetween the activities that Hope for Tadley organizes we also hold two members meetings a year, designed so that members can give direct feedback about the group and help steer the group around what activities you as members would like to see happen.
