There's no place to hide

19th July 2017

This week I have been reading Romans. This is the first letter in the New Testament. It was written by the Apostle Paul around 57AD to the new church in Rome. The theme of the letter is the good news of the Gospel: God’s plan of salvation!
This letter is the most comprehensive and systematic statement of the Christian faith! In chapter eight Paul reminds his readers that ‘God is Love’ - a very important point that he wants to make clear. He then declares...

Yes, I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor ruling spirits, nothing now, nothing in the future, no powers, nothing above us, nothing below us, nor anything else in the whole world will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39 The NCV Bible

This proclamation is all encompassing! There is nowhere we can go and no person is beyond God’s love! How good is that? It seems that God sometimes gets a lot of bad press, getting the blame for things beyond our control or understanding. But Paul make it crystal clear that fundamentally ‘God is Love’! Whatever you are up to as we continue this glorious summer remember these vital words from the Apostle Paul. There is nothing, I repeat, nothing, that can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!
