Camrose Centre
The Camrose Resource Centre is a drop-in centre primarily provided for homeless and vulnerable people, although it is open to all.
The Centre opens on Tuesday and Thursday each week and offers its clients breakfast and a hot lunch, bath or shower, laundry facilities, games facilities (pool, table tennis, etc.), advice on housing, employments, drugs and alcohol issues, telephone and computer facilities to assist with job applications, etc. and training in a variety of topics, including catering, gardening, IT skills, art & adult literacy.
The motivation to open such a centre was initiated by representatives from a number of Basingstoke churches and it is now run as a collaboration between those churches and other local voluntary organisations under the day-to-day management of Trinity Winchester. Most of the voluntary staff are church members, with churches regularly supplying food and finance for the project.
If you would be interested in joining the volunteer or even the paid staff, please email Andy Taylor or call him on 01256 316000.
