India
There are two strands to mission outreach in India in which TC plays a significant role:
a) Church building and equipping God’s people
b) Blessing individuals, medical workers and a Children’s Home
Our main relationship in church building and equipping takes place 120 miles north of Mumbai with a pastor of outstanding integrity, Sunil Paul. He works mainly in the slums of Nashik and surrounding villages, church planting, evangelising and raising up men and women from these areas who will in turn lead and pastor their own people. Teams from Town Centre church and other related Fellowships are making regular visits to encourage and work alongside Sunil in his ministry. It has now become a 2 way fellowship with Sunil visiting and raising the faith level in our churches from time to time.
A new work with similar aims has begun to develop in the city of Raipur, 22 hours train journey north east of Nashik. This work is headed up by Mark Rodericks, a friend of Sunil Paul and we anticipate further inroads and team opportunities here.
The blessing ministry includes pastoral care and encouragement to 2 doctors (Umesh and Alka Suna) working in a new area of mission service at Padhar between Raipur and Nashik. The fruit of this work will become known in time. We also seek to bless the children of Anugraha Children’s Home and school with sponsorship, visits and projects contributed to by our children in The King’s School Basingstoke.
